Creating & Maintaining a Roof to Withstand Hail
Sheathing:
During a windstorm, the design goal of a good roof is to route the wind’s force from the roof down the walls, then to the ground. If your sheathing and gables aren’t up to the challenge, your roof might end up in the neighbor’s yard.
Shingles:
Properly installed shingles are rated to withstand winds of 90 mph. Premium and specialty shingles can withstand up to 150 mph. Many of our customers select our designer shingles to help protect their roof from the high winds.
